South Landing Beach Cliffs.

The cliffs at South Landing near Bridlington are properly dramatic - chalk faces that drop sharply to a shingle beach, with the sea doing its best to reshape things daily. You're looking at a working headland here, not some preserved monument. The rocks move, the path shifts a bit with the seasons, and there's a real sense that nature's in charge.

It's a walker's spot more than anything else. The clifftop path offers decent views across Flamborough Head, and if you're keen on coastal geology or just fancy a bracing walk with nowhere to get lost, this delivers. The actual beach at South Landing is narrow and pebbly - fine for a scramble about and photographing the cliff face, but not for spreading out a towel. An hour is probably enough unless you're the type who sits and stares at horizons for ages.

The nearest town is Bridlington, which gives you somewhere to grab a coffee before or after. If you're based at one of the local parks - Haven Thornwick Bay is closest at 1.5 miles, or Flamborough Glamping if you want something smaller - this is an easy morning outing that breaks up the park routine. The cliffs look their best in decent light, so aim for midday if you're photographing them.

Free to access, no facilities right there, and weather-dependent. Don't come if there's a gale on - the path gets dicey. It's a solid coastal walk, nothing flashy, but it shows you proper Yorkshire coastline.
