Shenberrow Hill

You can see Shenberrow Hill from miles away across the Vale of Evesham - it's that distinctive little knoll that punches above its weight once you actually climb it. The walk up from Broadway takes about forty minutes depending on your pace, and it's properly steep in places, but the views when you get to the top are excellent. On a clear day you're looking out over the Cotswolds in one direction and down into Worcestershire in the other.

It's a working landscape you're walking through - farmland mostly - so it feels less like a touristy outing and more like an actual hill walk. The summit itself isn't dramatic or rocky, just a rounded top with a trig point, but that's rather the appeal. There's no cafe, no gift shop, just you and the view.

Walkers will get proper value here. Family groups with younger kids might find the climb a bit of a slog without a payoff at the top, but teenagers who like being outside will enjoy it. The sort of place where you spend ninety minutes total, not half a day, but it slots in perfectly if you're based around Winchcombe Camping & Caravanning Club or exploring the broader Cotswolds area.

Free, naturally. Go early if you want solitude, and wear proper boots if it's been wet - the footpath gets muddy. Worth the detour if you're in Broadway anyway.
