About Sgúrr na t-Searraich
This is proper hill-walking territory, not a family stroll. The path starts steep and stays that way for a good while, and there's loose scree near the top that demands respect. Experienced hikers will find it satisfying; casual walkers might find the grunt outweighs the payoff. The mountain attracts serious types doing the wider Kintail traverse, but it's absolutely doable as a standalone objective.
If you're based at Glenshiel Campsite just down the road, you couldn't ask for a better neighbour. The location is brilliant for hitting multiple peaks in the area, and the campsite itself is well-positioned for exploring the northern Highlands. Go early on weekends - the car park fills up fast, and you want the light on your side for the descent. Best attempted from April through October when the weather's at least trying to cooperate.
