Seaclose Park

The football pitches are the first thing you notice at Seaclose Park, but stick around and you'll find this Newport spot does proper work as a nature reserve. It's genuinely one of the best bits of accessible green space on the Isle of Wight, and the fact it doubles as a sports facility hardly matters once you're wandering the footpaths.

Families won't find much to occupy kids for a full afternoon beyond the walking and the odd bit of wildlife spotting, so it works best as a morning visit or a break in the day rather than a destination in itself.
