Scotland Corner

Getting to the summit requires a proper walk across open moorland, but the panoramic views across north Cornwall make every step worthwhile. Scotland Corner sits at a respectable height offering commanding views over the Camel Estuary towards Padstow and beyond to the Atlantic coastline.

Walkers and photographers will get the most from this spot. The climb isn't too taxing for reasonably fit adults, though families with young children might find the terrain a bit challenging in places. On clear days, you can spot the Doom Bar and Rock's distinctive outline across the water.

Allow around two hours for the round trip from Tremayne, including time to appreciate the views at the top. Early morning visits often reward you with the best light and fewer clouds rolling in from the sea. The path can get boggy after rain, so decent walking boots are essential.

This peak works well as part of a longer walking holiday based at one of the nearby parks like Padstow Holiday Village or Porthilly Beach Holiday Park. Both put you within striking distance of the coastal path as well as inland walks like this one. It's free to access, naturally, though you'll need your own transport to reach the starting point near Tremayne village.
