Scenic View

The walk up to this vantage point rewards you properly. You're standing on high ground above Filey, with the Yorkshire coast rolling away below you and the North Sea stretching towards the horizon. On a clear day the view justifies the climb; on a grey one it's moody and atmospheric in its own right.

It's the sort of spot that appeals to walkers far more than casual tourists. You won't find crowds or facilities here, just a genuine slice of coastal Yorkshire scenery. Families with older kids who don't mind a bit of legwork will find it worthwhile, though younger ones might struggle with the trudge and lack of distractions once you arrive.

Allow an hour if you're coming from Filey itself, depending on your fitness and how long you linger. There's no entrance fee or facilities to speak of, so bring water and come prepared. Summer mornings before the day warms up tend to be best - the light hits differently and you'll have fewer people about.

It works well as part of a wider walking route around Filey Bay rather than a standalone visit. If you're staying at Centenary Way Camping and Caravan Park, it's close enough for a proper outing. Haven Primrose Valley is a bit further out, but still reasonable as a day trip destination. The Yorkshire coast has plenty of these viewpoints; this one's definitely worth the detour if you're already in the area and fancy a proper walk.
