Saint George's Church

The church sits right at Conwy's heart, tucked into the walled town like it's been there forever - which, frankly, it has. St George's is properly medieval, all stone and history, the kind of place where you can actually feel the centuries settling on your shoulders. Walk in and you're looking at a building that's watched over this corner of North Wales since way back, with the sort of interior detail that makes architecture types linger for hours.

It's not a grand cathedral moment. This is intimate, working church stuff - a local landmark rather than a showstopper. But that's precisely what makes it worthwhile if you're touring Conwy's walled town anyway. Families won't find it endlessly gripping unless kids are into spotting gargoyles and old stonework, but it's absolutely worth poking your head round the door while you're exploring the castle and the high street. Ten minutes or so if you're casual, longer if you're genuinely interested in medieval architecture.

The whole Conwy setup - castle, walls, church - hangs together well. Base yourself at Bron-y-Wendon or Plas Farm Caravan & Lodge Park (both excellent spots, mind you) and St George's becomes a natural stop on your walking route. Llandudno's close enough for seaside time if you need a break from stone and history. Free admission seems likely given it's a working parish church, though opening hours vary - best to check locally once you're in town.
