It's the sort of spot that works brilliantly if you're based at one of the nearby caravan sites - Grove Farm Glamping Pods or Cotswold View are both within easy driving distance - and need to burn off some energy without heading into town. An hour here is enough for most people; two hours if you're a proper walker and want to explore everything the woods have to offer.

Families with younger kids will find it manageable, though it's not going to keep them entertained all afternoon. The real appeal is for anyone who wants a quiet woodland wander without the crowds you'd get at a more famous spot. No visitor centre, no facilities that we're aware of, so come prepared - it's free access, which means you turn up, walk, and leave.
