Inside, it's peaceful and well-maintained, with good stained glass and the sort of calm you only find in Scottish kirks on a grey afternoon.

It's not a destination in itself, frankly. You won't spend more than half an hour here unless you're genuinely into ecclesiastical architecture or local history. But if you're staying at Lomond Woods or Loch Lomond Retreat up in Balloch, and the weather's turned a bit rough for Loch activities, it's worth twenty minutes of your time. The church is also useful for understanding how towns like Renton functioned beyond their shipyards and factories - there's something about seeing where ordinary people gathered that makes the broader picture click into place.
