The woodland around Readyfield Wood, just outside Southwell, is proper walking country. The real draw is that it feels genuinely local rather than packaged. No entrance fee, no opening times to worry about - just a bit of genuine woodland within easy reach of Southwell.

If you're combining it with a park holiday in the area, treat it as a break from the glamping pods rather than the main event. Better weather months make more sense. It's the sort of place that rewards a morning visit before heading into town for lunch.
