The statue of Queen Victoria stands in Beverley, a handsome market town in East Yorkshire that punches well above its weight. Cast in bronze, she's an imposing presence - the sort of Victorian monument you'd expect to find in a major city, not a place most people only pass through on the way to Hull.

What strikes you immediately is the craftsmanship.
