This isn't a casual play-for-an-afternoon type of operation. Princes demands respect and a reasonable level of skill. You're looking at a full day commitment, eighteen holes, and the weather can turn on you quickly out here. It's members-focused, though they do take visitors - you'll need to check their current policy and likely arrange it in advance rather than just rolling up on a whim.

Walkers who aren't golfers won't find much here, to be honest. This is a working championship course, not a scenic stroll. Families will only get value if the kids are old enough to occupy themselves for four hours while an adult plays.

If you're genuinely interested in golf, the course sits within Kent's famous cluster of links courses - Royal St George's is practically round the corner. But Princes stands on its own merits. It's a serious test of golf, not a tourist attraction. Come if you play, skip it if you don't.
