Polhill's Plunge

The view from Polhill's Plunge, just outside Wokingham, stops you dead. It's one of those spots where the landscape suddenly drops away and you realise why someone bothered naming it after the fall itself. On a clear day, the vista stretches properly far - the kind of panorama that makes the short walk there feel worthwhile, even if the path is a bit muddy depending on the season.

This is genuinely good for walkers who know the area. It's not a destination in itself - you won't spend hours here - but it slots into a longer circuit nicely. Families with kids old enough to manage a proper walk will find it decent; younger ones might get bored after the initial "ooh, that's high" moment. It's free, naturally, and you can usually access it without drama.
