You climb into a transparent plastic bubble, get zipped up, and then someone gives you a gentle shove down a grassy slope. That's zorbing at Pod London, a few miles outside Redhill - and yes, it's as bonkers and brilliant as it sounds.

The whole thing takes about twenty minutes from arrival to departure, though you'll want longer to watch other people hurtling down the hill first. You're essentially a human marble, bouncing inside a giant inflatable sphere with a few metres of air cushioning you from the actual impact. It's padded, it's ridiculous, and kids absolutely lose their minds over it.

That said, this is pure novelty. The novelty wears off fast once you've done it once or twice. Families visiting the area might dedicate an afternoon here, but it's not the sort of place where you'll spend all day. A few goes, a laugh, some bruised ribs from giggling - and you're done.

If you're staying at Alderstead Heath or Milberry Green Meadows nearby, Pod London makes a solid rainy-day activity or a daft family challenge. Worth building into a wider Surrey trip rather than making it your main event. The practicalities - opening hours, pricing, advance booking - are tricky to pin down online, so ring ahead before you drive out there. Getting it wrong would be genuinely frustrating given how specific the visit is.
