You walk through tunnels carved into the rock face during World War II, past vintage equipment and old morse code apparatus, getting a genuine sense of how information moved before the internet made everything instant and disposable.

It's not the glossiest museum you'll visit. The exhibits feel authentic rather than polished, which is exactly the point. There's something quite moving about standing in those wartime tunnels, reading about the operators who sat here relaying crucial communications. History enthusiasts will spend a good two hours here easily; families with younger kids might find it a bit dry after forty minutes, though the novelty of exploring actual underground passages keeps most engaged.

Free admission, which is brilliant. Allow ninety minutes if you're taking it seriously. The clifftop location itself is worth the journey - dramatic coastal views across Mount's Bay, and the walk down from Penzance clears your head properly. Pair it with either Lands End Camping & Glamping just down the coast or Roselands Caravan Camping Park if you're staying longer. Both put you within easy reach of this corner of West Cornwall, which doesn't get nearly the foot traffic of the more obvious spots.
