Pitt Down

Pitt Down rises 580 feet above the Hampshire chalk downland, offering views that stretch across the Test Valley towards the South Downs. It's a straightforward walk from Winchester - nothing dramatic, but the kind of place that rewards a Sunday morning ramble if you're staying locally.

The down itself is chalk grassland, which means it's quite open. You're not clambering through woodland; instead, you get proper sightlines across rolling country.
