Pimple Hill

Standing 320 metres above sea level, this lesser-known summit offers surprisingly good views across Worcestershire without the crowds that flock to the main Malvern Hills peaks. The name might raise a snigger, but the climb is properly rewarding.

From the top, you can see right across to the Cotswolds on clear days, with the Severn Valley spread out below. It's a gentler ascent than some of the more famous hills nearby, making it well worth considering if you're staying at one of the holiday parks dotted around Malvern and fancy a walk that won't knacker the kids completely.

The summit is part of the broader Malvern Hills range, so you can easily link it with other peaks if you're feeling energetic. Alternatively, it works brilliantly as a standalone walk - allow a couple of hours return from most starting points. Families will find it manageable, though proper walking boots are still essential as the paths can get muddy.

Being free to access and open year-round, it's a decent backup plan when the weather's iffy for other activities. The views might not quite match the Worcestershire Beacon, but you'll have them largely to yourself.
