About Perton Park
Walkers and nature spotters will get the most from it. Families with young kids might find it a bit samey after forty minutes or so, depending on how keen they are on pointing at birds. There's nothing fancy here - no visitor centre I'm aware of, no café - so come prepared.
It sits nicely alongside a Hereford-based holiday. The camping and caravan club site and The Millpond are both within easy reach (1.7 miles), so you could base yourself there and treat Perton Park as a morning ramble before heading into Hereford proper or exploring the wider area. If you're staying at Caplor Glamping or Mike's Meadow, it's a reasonable drive. Spring and early summer are best - the whole place comes alive with nesting birds and wildflowers. Winter's a bit bleak. Free to access as far as I can tell, which is always welcome. Worth the detour if you're already in the area and fancy some gentle woodland time, but don't bank your whole holiday on it.
