It's the kind of place that works brilliantly as a morning stroll before heading somewhere more spectacular, rather than a destination in itself.

If you're camping at Drummohr - a cracking site just under six miles away - these fields make sense for an easy leg-stretch. Families with young kids might appreciate the open space for a run-around, though there's no playground infrastructure to speak of. Walkers passing through will find it pleasant enough, but there's genuinely nothing that warrants a detour if you're after dramatic views or historical interest. The real appeal is convenience rather than spectacle. On a dry day when the university isn't hosting matches, you can wander freely without feeling like you're intruding.
