Paul Labyrinth

The Paul Labyrinth sits just outside Newlyn, a proper maze cut into the Cornish landscape that's been confusing visitors for centuries. It's not massive - you can walk it in twenty minutes if you know what you're doing, longer if you're deliberately getting lost, which is rather the point. The paths wind through hedgerows with genuine dead ends; it's the real deal, not some tourist-trap hedge puzzle.

You'll want to allow a good hour if you've got kids, because half the fun is watching them retrace their steps and work out where they went wrong. Adults tend to either breeze through it or spend ages trying to find the centre without backtracking - depends on your sense of direction, really. The views from various points are decent enough, looking out across the farmland towards Newlyn and the coast beyond.

It works brilliantly as a break in a longer park holiday. Both Foxglove Field Glamping and Roselands Caravan Camping Park are within easy striking distance, and the labyrinth gives you something to do on an afternoon when the beach feels like overkill. Entry details are a bit thin on the ground online, so ring ahead or ask at your accommodation - locals in Newlyn will point you right.

Worth the detour if you're staying nearby and fancy something different. Not essential, but a proper bit of Cornish quirk that beats another coastal walk when you've already done that.
