Paradwys Chapel Llanallgo

The walk across fields to Paradwys Chapel near Marianglas feels deliberately removed from the world - and that's entirely the point. This small medieval church sits isolated on Anglesey's rural landscape, its weathered stone walls telling the story of centuries of worship in one of Wales' quietest corners.

Inside, the atmosphere shifts. The chapel's simplicity is striking - whitewashed walls, ancient wooden beams, and windows that frame the surrounding countryside rather than distract from it. It's genuinely moving in a way that glossier, more famous churches often aren't. The name Paradwys means Paradise in Welsh, and locals clearly meant it literally when they chose this location.
