You'll find the usual library fare: books, computers, a decent reference section, and space to sit without anyone fussing if you just want to read for an hour. The opening hours are genuinely useful for a working holiday - it's open until 8pm weekdays, which means you can pop in after other activities have wound down. Admission is free, naturally.

This works best if you're staying at one of the nearby holiday parks - Theobalds Park, Fowley Mead Park, or the Lee Valley sites - and need somewhere dry when the weather turns. It's not a destination in itself. Kids won't thank you for dragging them here unless they're already readers, but if you're the type who genuinely prefers a library afternoon to another castle visit, at least you know it exists and it's convenient.

The location is decent for exploring further afield - Waltham Cross is close enough for a quick trip into town, and you're well-positioned for the Lee Valley Caravan Park if you want to mix library time with some actual outdoor activity. Allow a couple of hours maximum unless you're genuinely settling in with a book.
