It's the zero meridian for the Ordnance Survey - the benchmark from which every grid reference in the country derives. Not exactly a sit-down-for-hours kind of spot, but if you're into maps, land measurement, or just the peculiar history of how Britain learned to measure itself, it's genuinely worth the short drive out.
