Off the Lead

Off the Lead is a dog park just outside Bodmin where your pooch can properly stretch their legs without the lead. It's a straightforward affair - fenced fields where dogs can run, sniff, and socialise with other dogs. Nothing fancy, no agility equipment or water features, just space and freedom.

If you're touring with a dog, this spot solves a real problem. Most holiday parks have rules about where dogs can roam, and regular walks on leads get tedious fast. An hour here lets your dog burn genuine energy, which means a calmer evening back at the caravan. Dogs get it - they know the difference between "walk" and "run". Owners tend to congregate and swap stories while their mutts chase about, so it's decent for a bit of human company too.

There's limited infrastructure - basically fields and maybe a car park - so don't expect facilities. Wet weather means proper mud. The location works well if you're staying at Mena Farm, which is less than a mile away, and it slots neatly into a Bodmin-area trip where you might visit Bodmin Moor or the town's other attractions. Allow 45 minutes to an hour, depending on how knackered your dog is.

Worth the detour if you've got a dog that needs off-lead space. Pointless otherwise.
