No Man's Land

No Man's Land is a proper gym and sports facility just outside Taunton, the kind of place that takes itself seriously without being intimidating. It's a working fitness centre with all the usual kit - weights, cardio machines, classes - plus some indoor sports courts if you're after a bit of badminton or squash between caravan meals.

You're not coming here for the views, obviously. This is a functional gym, the sort of place locals use regularly and visitors might pop into if they've got restless teenagers or want to burn off energy on a rainy Somerset afternoon. The classes can be decent depending on the day; worth checking their schedule online before you go.

It's paid entry - check their website for current rates - and realistically you'd want two to three hours if you're doing a proper session rather than just a quick treadmill run. Best visited mid-week if you can't stand crowds, though it's never rammed compared to city gyms.

For a caravan holiday based at Cornish Farm Touring Park or Ashe Farm just a couple of miles away, this could be worth knowing about if someone in the group needs proper exercise facilities. The surrounding area is better for walking and outdoor stuff though - you're better off at one of the local country parks for your main activities. No Man's Land is backup entertainment, not the main event.
