The woodland around Newland Wood offers proper walking territory just outside Warwick - the kind of place where you can actually lose the sound of traffic within five minutes. It's mixed deciduous forest, nothing dramatic, but genuinely pleasant if you're after a half-day ramble rather than a destination in itself.

The trails wind through beech and oak with occasional clearings that catch decent light in afternoon. Underfoot varies between leaf mould and muddy patches depending on the season - wear boots if it's been wet. You'll spot the occasional bluebells in spring if you time it right, and the canopy does proper work in summer heat.
