You'll find yourself walking among younger trees and established growth depending on where you wander. The paths are manageable rather than challenging, which makes this decent territory for families with primary-age kids who don't fancy a strenuous hike. Older walkers and those after a proper woodland workout might want something with more topography - try Quantock Hills nearby for genuine elevation.

There's nothing fancy here. No visitor centre, no café, no admission fee nonsense. Just community-minded woodland access. Allow 45 minutes to an hour if you're taking it easy; less if you're just nipping through. Best visited when it's not sodden underfoot, so spring through early autumn works well.
