You're not visiting a single monument or building - you're getting access to thousands of acres of proper Pennine countryside: limestone cliffs, moorland, riverside walks, and villages that look like they've been lifted straight from a calendar.

Skipton sits on the doorstep, which makes it an easy base for exploring. The Trust's holdings here include Malham Cove and Janet's Foss, both within reach if you're staying at Malham Glamping Pods nearby. The walks vary wildly - some are gentle riverside strolls, others will have you scrambling up stone steps with proper views opening out across the valley. It's the kind of place where you can spend a morning tackling one walk and still have energy for a second loop in the afternoon.

Families with older kids thrive here. Younger ones might find some stretches dull unless there's a stream to splash in. Serious walkers will find themselves coming back year after year - the paths are well-marked but there's always another ridge or valley to explore.

Admission is typically free for National Trust members, and day passes are reasonable. Allow anything from two hours for a single walk to full days if you're hitting multiple spots.
