Glendurgan is a National Trust garden that sprawls across a steep wooded valley, and it's genuinely one of those places where you arrive expecting pretty flowerbeds and instead find yourself wandering through subtropical trees, winding paths, and these sudden vistas that catch you off guard.

The main draw is the maze - a proper Victorian laurel maze cut into the hillside - though it's less about getting lost and more about the quirky satisfaction of finally finding the centre. Families with kids aged six and up will get a kick out of it; younger ones might find the walk tedious. But there's plenty beyond that: the valley garden itself with its collection of tender plants, the river at the bottom, and footpaths that meander through some genuinely lovely woodland.
