About Mynydd y Gwyddel
This is walker territory, full stop. Families with young kids will find it tedious unless the children are already used to a decent hike. There's nothing much at the summit itself - no cafe, no monument, just moorland and that view - but that's rather the point. You're coming for the walk and the perspective, not for attractions. Allow a couple of hours there and back from the car park near Pwllheli.
The best time is late spring through early autumn, when you're not battling through bog and cloud. Winter is miserable and not worth it. Spring wildflowers make it prettier, though you'll share the paths with plenty of other walkers on weekends.
It sits handily close to Glampio Coed Glamping and Tyn Ddol Camping and Glamping if you're basing yourself in the area. Combine it with a coastal walk down to Pwllheli itself and you've got a solid half-day sorted. The Llŷn Peninsula has enough rambling routes that you could easily spend a week here without repeating yourself.
