Molar Wall West

Rocky outcrops jut from the clifftop here like ancient teeth, giving this stretch of Gower coastline its distinctive name. From the western edge of Molar Wall, you get sweeping views across Three Cliffs Bay and the Tor, with Oxwich Point visible on clearer days.

Walkers tackling the Gower coastal path will find this a proper highlight - the limestone formations create natural viewing platforms that are surprisingly stable underfoot. Photography enthusiasts love the dramatic contrast between the white rock and dark sea, particularly during golden hour when the light catches the cliff face.

Families with older children who don't mind a bit of scrambling will enjoy exploring the rock pools and crevices, though keep little ones well back from the edge. The drop here is significant and the sea below unforgiving.

Access involves a decent walk from the nearest car park at Southgate, roughly twenty minutes each way across fairly rough terrain. Worth allowing at least an hour to properly appreciate the views and geology. Free to visit, naturally, though weather can change quickly on this exposed section of coast.

If you're staying at one of the nearby Gower parks like Hillend or Pitton Cross, this makes an excellent morning expedition before the crowds arrive. Combine it with Three Cliffs Bay for a proper day out exploring one of Wales' most dramatic stretches of coastline.
