Moel y Plas

The walk up Moel y Plas is straightforward enough, but the views from the summit make the effort entirely worthwhile. You're looking across the Vale of Clwyd towards the Clwydian Range - proper expansive stuff that stretches for miles on a clear day. The peak itself sits just outside Ruthin, making it an obvious choice if you're based in town or staying at one of the local spots like Clwydian Glamping Pods.

It's not a brutal climb - most walkers manage the round trip in under two hours, though you can take longer if you want to potter about and soak in the landscape. The path is well-trodden and manageable for anyone with reasonable fitness, families included, though younger kids might find their legs complaining on the way down.
