Millennium Point

Millennium Point sits just outside Stafford as a decent vantage point for taking in the surrounding Staffordshire landscape. It's basically a raised viewpoint - nothing fancy, but on a clear day you get proper views across the region, which beats staring at the same field from your caravan.

You're not talking about a major attraction here. Most people spend twenty minutes, half an hour tops, taking a few photos and getting their bearings of the area. History types might appreciate that it marks the millennium, but it's hardly a destination in itself. Families with restless kids won't find much to occupy them beyond the view.

Free to visit, and there's no hassle with opening hours or admission fees - just turn up. The walk up is straightforward, though it can be a bit windswept at the top depending on the weather.

Where it works well is as a quick stop if you're camping nearby - Fledgling Farm and Springfields Countryside are both within six miles and solid bases for exploring Staffordshire. If you're staying at one of the caravan sites and fancying a brisk leg-stretch with a bit of a view to show for it, Millennium Point fills that gap nicely. Pair it with a walk around Stafford itself or a proper countryside ramble, but don't plan a day around it. It's the sort of place you'll appreciate more in retrospect than you'll enjoy standing there.
