Lakeside Touring Caravan Park and Four Seasons Country Park are both five-and-a-bit miles out if you're staying further afield - still manageable for a day trip. The landscape won't blow your mind, but it's the kind of place that grows on you if you give it time. Families with younger children will find the walking reasonable and the water engaging enough to hold attention for a bit. Walkers after something more challenging should probably head elsewhere, but if you want a gentle circuit with water views and minimal fuss, this does the job. Check ahead for any seasonal closures or access restrictions, though the area generally stays open and free to explore.
