Mill Pond

A proper little fishing pond tucked away near Evesham, Mill Pond won't win any prizes for size but it has a quiet charm that's hard to find elsewhere in Worcestershire. The water sits peacefully among mature trees, creating decent shade on hot summer days and attracting a fair few ducks and moorhens.

Anglers seem to know about this place - you'll often spot a rod or two along the banks, particularly early morning when the mist lifts off the water. It's not exactly Lake Windermere, but for a gentle stroll or quick dog walk, it does the job nicely. Kids might enjoy feeding the ducks for ten minutes, though don't expect to keep them entertained much longer.

The path around the pond is reasonably flat, making it accessible for pushchairs and those who prefer easier walking. No facilities to speak of, so bring your own refreshments if you're planning to linger. Twenty minutes is probably enough unless you're settling in for a fishing session.

If you're staying at one of the nearby parks like Broadway Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite or Ranch Caravan Park, Mill Pond makes a pleasant morning detour before heading into Evesham proper. It's the sort of spot that's lovely for what it is - just don't expect drama.
