Mid Hill Head

The walk up to Mid Hill Head rewards you with proper views across the Lowlands - on a clear day you can see right across to the Southern Uplands. Mt View Caravan Park sits just 5 miles away, making this a sensible afternoon sortie if you're based there. It's the kind of walk that separates from the honeypot destinations - you'll feel like you've actually earned your view rather than shuffled between a car park and a café. Worth the effort.
