Mevagissey Inner Harbour

The inner harbour at Mevagissey is a working fishing port that actually feels like one - no theme park theatrics, just boats, nets, and the genuine smell of the sea. It's a proper Cornish fishing village, the sort of place where you watch small trawlers unload their catch while locals grab their morning coffee at the harbourside cafes.

Walking around the quays takes about an hour if you're leisurely. The outer harbour is larger and more touristy, but the inner one has the character - tight stone walls, genuine working atmosphere, and views back towards the town climbing the hill. It's free to wander, though you'll likely spend money eating fish and chips or grabbing a drink at one of the harbourside spots.

Families with older kids will enjoy the bustle and the chance to spot actual fishermen at work. Young children might get bored after thirty minutes unless they're fascinated by boats.
