Lydbrook Coppice

The coppice sits just outside Broadway, that honey-coloured Cotswolds town everyone flocks to, but Lydbrook Coppice itself feels properly removed from the tourist crush. It's a working woodland - the kind of place where you'll spot evidence of active management, fresh coppicing work, and the sort of quiet that makes you remember why you came to Worcestershire in the first place.

This isn't a manicured nature reserve with information boards at every turn. It's a genuine working forest where locals walk their dogs and the canopy does the heavy lifting in summer. The paths are decent enough, though muddy stretches are part of the deal depending on the season. You're looking at a decent ramble through mixed woodland - not a destination in itself, but absolutely the sort of place to build into a morning's walk if you're based nearby.

Walkers will get the most from it. It's the kind of woodland that rewards proper boots and a bit of time; you won't exhaust it in forty minutes, but it's not so vast that you'll spend half the day wondering if you've missed the exit. Families with older kids who don't need constant stimulation will be fine here too.
