Llechwedd Y Lloi

The walk up Llechwedd Y Lloi isn't long, but it's properly steep in places. From Welshpool, you're looking at a decent trek into the Powys hills, and the effort pays off once you're standing on the summit with views across Mid Wales rolling out in front of you.

It's the kind of peak that suits walkers who want something achievable without needing a full day's commitment. If you're based at Pandy Camping, which sits about five miles away, this makes a solid half-day outing. Pair it with a wander around Welshpool town itself - there's decent enough pubs for lunch. It's not dramatic like Snowdonia, but that's partly the appeal. It's quiet, real, and you'll have the hilltop to yourself.
