Walkers passing through the area can work it into a longer loop without losing half a day.

There's no visitor centre or facilities to speak of, so bring what you need. Go early morning if you want any chance of wildlife watching. Allow an hour maximum unless you're the type who genuinely enjoys studying different grass species - it's not going to sustain half a day's worth of interest for most people.

For a proper nature reserve experience, this works as a free add-on to a park holiday rather than a destination in itself. Pevensey Bay or Crowhurst Park guests could easily walk or drive over, combine it with a beach visit, and call it done.
