About Lints Tor
It's not a technical scramble or anything - more a steady uphill plod through gorse and grass - but the wind picks up as you gain height and the horizon just keeps expanding. On a clear day you can see proper distance across the moor. The tor itself is modest, a cluster of granite blocks rather than a dramatic summit, but that's half the charm of Dartmoor tors. They're subtle.
Walkers will genuinely enjoy this. It's the sort of walk that takes a couple of hours return, so not exhausting but satisfying. Families with confident young hikers could manage it, though the moorland can be boggy in places and there's no obvious path - you navigate by compass or GPS, really. History types might appreciate the Bronze Age cairns scattered about, though there's not much interpretation on the ground.
Go on a decent weather day. Moorland mist turns this into a trudge. If you're staying at Lydford Caravan & Camping Park just down the road, it's absolutely worth the short drive to Okehampton and a couple of hours on the hills. Free to visit, naturally. No facilities at the tor itself, so bring water.
