Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre

Families with young kids might manage an hour before restlessness sets in, though teenagers with any interest in WWII will spend a proper afternoon here. The Lancaster flights themselves - when they happen - are the real draw; sitting in the fuselage while those Merlin engines roar to life is something you won't forget.

The site's free to wander the outdoor areas, though there's a charge for going inside the buildings and the flight experiences. Summer's your best bet for activity and weather.
