There's a straightforward walking path that loops the water - takes maybe forty minutes at a gentle pace, longer if you're the type to stop and watch birds. No facilities to speak of, so pack what you need. Free to visit, naturally. Go on a weekday morning if you can - weekends bring the local dog walkers out in force, which is fine, just a bit busier. It's the kind of place that fills an hour or so perfectly well between other activities rather than something you'd plan a day around. Worth the short drive from Cirencester if you've got young ones who need a stretch, or if you're a keen twitcher. Otherwise, it's a nice enough addition to a park holiday but not essential.
