Lady Lamb's Copse

Lady Lamb's Copse is a proper woodland walk tucked away between Swindon and the Gloucestershire countryside. The forest isn't massive - you're looking at a decent stroll through mixed woodland with enough trails to keep things interesting without needing all day. Beech and oak dominate, and depending on the season you'll get either dappled shade in summer or that lovely crunchy leaf carpet come autumn.

This works well for families after a gentle woodland ramble, though don't expect dramatic vistas or woodland play facilities. It's straightforward walking terrain - nothing technical. The main appeal is simply being under the trees, breathing in that forest air, spotting the occasional woodland bird. If your kids are the type to get bored without a destination or viewpoint, they might fidget after an hour or so.

Walkers and nature enthusiasts will find it a solid addition to a broader Gloucestershire outing. It's close enough to Great Farm and Second Chance Touring parks - both within a couple of miles - to make for an easy morning activity if you're based on a park holiday in the area. Worth combining with a visit to nearby attractions rather than making it a standalone trip.

Bring decent footwear; woodland paths hold moisture. There's no visitor infrastructure that I'm aware of, so come prepared. Free to access, though you'll want to check locally for any seasonal closures or access restrictions. Best visited when it's not pouring rain - the paths get slippery fast.
