King's Church Amersham (KCA)

The church sits on the high street in Amersham town centre, its grey stone facade and sturdy tower visible from across the market square. King's Church is a proper parish church with roots going back centuries, though what you see now is mostly Victorian restoration work. Inside, there's a decent amount of medieval detail if you look up - carved roof timbers and a chancel that rewards a closer look, plus the usual assortment of memorial tablets on the walls that tell you more about local life over the past few hundred years than any guidebook could.

It's worth stepping inside if you're already in Amersham - maybe ten or fifteen minutes to have a proper wander round - but don't make a special trip from Beaconsfield just for this one. The town itself has more going for it than the church alone, so treat it as part of a morning exploring the high street and the pond rather than a standalone attraction.

If you're camping at one of the nearby parks - Lights Camera Glamping is closest at just over two miles - you could easily pop into Amersham for a wander and take in the church without any fuss. Whelpley Hill or North Hill Farm are slightly further out but still within easy striking distance. Access should be straightforward during daylight hours, though specific opening times aren't clear, so don't plan an evening visit without checking ahead.
