Come in spring or early summer and you'll find common birds, butterflies, and wildflowers that have reclaimed what was once just a sports pitch. It's not dramatic or showy - no ancient woodland, no dramatic views - but there's something honest about it. You're watching nature doing its actual work, not a prettified version for visitors.

Allowing an hour is realistic. This isn't a full day's outing. Bring binoculars if you're into that sort of thing, proper footwear because it can get boggy, and accept that you might see very little on a first visit. That's half the appeal, really.
