Jubilee Park

Jubilee Park sits just outside Wadebridge and works as a proper breath of fresh air if you're staying at any of the holiday parks dotted around this corner of North Cornwall. It's a nature reserve rather than a manicured attraction - think woodland walks, open grassland, and the sort of place where you might actually spot something interesting rather than just trudge around in circles.

The reserve is ideal for walkers who want something low-key. There's no pretension here, just paths through trees and across fields where locals take their dogs and families come to let kids burn off energy without the theme park crowds. You won't need more than an hour or so unless you're really into bird spotting or botanical detail - though those folks tend to get the most from it, especially in spring when things start waking up. It's the kind of place you visit twice over a week-long holiday rather than planning a whole day around it.

Being free and within spitting distance of Wadebridge, it slots nicely into a park holiday based at The Laurels, St Minver, or Porthilly Beach. If the weather turns decent and you fancy escaping the caravan for a couple of hours, it's worth the short drive. Don't expect drama or views that'll stop you in your tracks - but if you want honest, unpretentious countryside without fighting through crowds, you've found it.
