Ancient oak and birch trees stretch across this quiet woodland between Oakmere and the larger Delamere Forest. Hunt's Hill Wood feels properly wild compared to its more managed neighbour - fallen logs create natural obstacle courses, and the paths meander rather than march in straight lines.

Families with energetic kids will find plenty to explore here. The wood isn't huge, so little ones won't get overwhelmed, but there's enough space for proper adventure. Older children love the natural climbing opportunities and den-building potential among the deadfall.

Walkers seeking solitude will appreciate the quieter atmosphere. While Delamere gets busy at weekends, this smaller wood remains relatively peaceful. The terrain varies nicely - gentle slopes in places, steeper climbs towards the hill itself. Dog owners particularly rate it for off-lead exercise.
