The churchyard itself is worth twenty minutes for the gravestones alone if you're into that sort of thing; families might find it atmospheric rather than thrilling, but older kids studying local history would appreciate it.

Combine it with a stay at one of the nearby parks and you've got a proper slice of Yorkshire village life without the fuss of heading into Harrogate town centre. Worth the detour if you're in the area, though not worth planning a trip around on its own.
