Holy Trinity Church, Milton Regis

The church sits on a quiet rise in Milton Regis, a couple of miles inland from Sheerness, and it's genuinely one of those places that rewards the small detour. Holy Trinity is a proper medieval parish church - the kind of building that's been watching over the same stretch of Kent for centuries without making any fuss about it.

Inside, there's real character. The nave has that particular smell of old stone and furniture polish, the windows let in decent light, and you get a proper sense of what village life looked like centuries back. It's not packed with flashy monuments or rarities - it's just a working church that happens to be rather lovely.

Families might find it a bit quiet unless the kids are genuinely interested in medieval architecture, but it's peaceful enough that even restless teenagers usually settle down for ten minutes. The surrounding area has enough footpaths to make it part of a longer afternoon out rather than a standalone visit.
